As a beginner it is crucial we build correct technique as a foundation. Therefore we will start with developing a correct hand positioning, picking techniques, basic chord shapes, chord changes, and learning to read tablature, ensuring a strong base for your guitar playing.

Chords & Rhythm Playing
Develop your chord & rhythm playing, starting with open chords and power chords, progressing to barre chords, extended chords, triad positions and their inversions.
We will explore a range of selected songs across multiple genres, each chosen to develop specific techniques. Additionally, we will integrate songs tailored to your preferences, ensuring an engaging and structured learning experience.
Scales & Theory
Developing your knowledge of scales and modes, enabling you to confidently play in any key across the fretboard. We will also expand your theory understanding, developing interval knowledge to aid with the understanding of scale patterns, chord construction and harmonic foundation.
Improvisation
Put the techniques, scales, and theory knowledge we cover in lessons into practice through improvising guitar solos and chord progressions. Here we will develop skills such as melodic phrasing, playing dynamically, experimentation with guitar tones and and guiding you to find your unique voice as a guitarist and improviser.
Developing composition techniques, reinforcing the skills developed within the lessons whilst putting them into practical use.

Working in the DAW, Logic Pro to record originals and covers to assist with precision and playing in time. This is also an opportunity to develop basic production skills and to develop guitar tones utilising effects and pedals.
Songwriting & Recording
Self Taught Guitarists
I work with guitarists who were previously self-taught to implement a structure into their practice routine. We work on removing any and habits within their technique and incorporate music theory to develop a complete understanding and enhance the students playing.
Guitarists From Group Lessons
I work with guitarists who are looking to transition from group to private lessons. We focus on refining technique in depth while tailoring lessons to your personal development and song preferences.
